Are we failing families post adoption?

I recently wrote a piece in Therapy Today about working with adoption and the kinds of problems and responses adoptive families face from others, including professionals. The pain of loss and of facing disappointments for parents and children can be difficult to bear and contain. It's a complicated picture but I have seen how things can shift and how families can find their own version of "happiness" and normality with consistent and non-judgemental support.
